Today marks my first post on my new bog, The Style Note.
A little about me, for those who don’t know – I’ve been blogging for about 2 years on Tumblr, but posting about fashion for close to 1. After using Tumblr for a while, I’ve decided to switch things up a bit in order to focus on the direction I want to take with my blogging.
Honestly, starting over, to me, has always been something I’ve reacted to with mixed emotions. The fear of the unknown can be nerve-racking. However, new beginnings, as scary as they can be, are often really exciting and rewarding as well. Fashion is a perfect example of this because new beginnings are essentially the driving force behind the industry. Reinvention is a key part of any designers process or anyone who is fashionable. Whether it be something as obvious as new trends or something revolutionary (shoulder pads, pant suits, peplum, uh, hello?!), fashion is constantly starting over. That’s why fashion, as a whole and as an art form can be so inspiring. Because fashion is so present and constantly evolving, it is a source of inspiration, for me at least, that things can (for the most part) improve and progress.
From styling, to designing, to fashion blogging, new beginnings are the path toward growth and possibilities. Even within this last year, blogging has provided great opportunities, and I’ve learned a great deal, not only about fashion but about myself as well. Hopefully, The Style Note, will be another step in this learning process. Tumblr has its ups and downs, and although I plan on primarily posting from here now, I still intend to use it for the purpose of having a platform. All in all though, I’m definitely ready to start something new.
