I love trying new beauty products as frequently as possible. However, I sometimes fall so in love with an item that I can’t manage to part with it long enough to try something different. Givenchy Photo’Perfexion Fluid Foundation is one of these products, and I’ve been hooked on it since I first tested it during a free makeover at Sephora (thank you, Beauty Insider points).
Prior to the store’s makeup artist suggesting Photo’Perfexion, I was constantly switching up which foundation/tinted moisturizer I used. I’ve tried Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, Coola Mineral Face Matte Tint, and a variety of face products from MAC. And while all these beauty products have, for the most part, been pretty good, they don’t have the same hold on me like the Givenchy foundation does. The reason I think I’ve stuck with this product for as long as I have is because it really does what it says it supposed to. So, even though the foundation is pricer than I’d like (>$50), I know it’s going to get the job done.
I love that Photo’Perfexion has a natural finish, and it’s buildable. I wear a medium amount during the work day and sometimes add another layer or two before heading out to an evening event. It’s paired nicely with different primers I’ve tried, but it can also look just fine if I’m applying it quickly with my fingers, which, admittedly, I do quite often. (I’m not a morning person, so the last thing I want to be doing before heading to work is spending an obnoxious amount of time applying makeup.) I wear Color 1 — the lightest hue in the product’s lineup — and I find it to be a pretty spot-on match for my super-light complexion. Plus, with an SPF 20, it makes me feel like I’m doing my due diligence when it comes to protecting my skin.
However, on top of ALL of that, the best part about Photo’Perfexion is how long lasting it is. I apply this foundation to my face almost every morning, and I rarely have to reapply later in the afternoon. Basically, it’s a super easy-to-use product that I seem to get a lot of value out of, so if you’re looking to add a new foundation to your makeup bag I highly recommend it.
