My name is Emma Klug, and I’m a metro Detroit-based writer and editor. I founded The Style Note more than four years ago. Since then, the site has grown into my own lil’ space on the internet where I rant and rave about clothes I wish I owned, ethical and creative fashion projects I’m digging, styling tricks I’ve somehow managed to figure out, things I like to wear, and more.
Style to me is more than the clothes you wear, the stores you shop at, the trends you follow/don’t follow. Style is a reflection of who you are. It’s a personal decision you make on a daily basis that let’s the world know a little bit about you, and I think that’s a pretty cool thing. I created the site to serve as a platform that could offer advice, inspire new outfit options, celebrate individuality, talk body positivity, and give insight on the crazy world of #fashun.
I oversee the overall editorial, marketing, guest contributions and brand direction of The Style Note. When I’m not writing, editing and planning pieces for the site, I’m probably working my day job as an associate magazine editor, binge-watching old WWE matches or obsessing over designer clothing. My written work has been featured in DBusiness magazine, The Working Wardrobe, The Chicago Sun-Times, Nothing Major and more, and my full portfolio can be viewed at emmaklug.com.
